Wasting your time twirling pen??

When I was growing up, all I ever heard was - “work hard, don’t waste your time on trivial things and you will be a success”….
As a nation we here our American education system is shot and that the Japanese have students who have no summers off and work long school days. This is why America is falling behind……..

Now I find out that video games could have made me a millionaire. That silly computer “nerdy” tech stuff could have made me the next bill gates. I also know that the Japanese culture plays more video games, online fantasy games and spends a lot of time trivial things - like perfecting the “art “ of twirling pens in their hands. I guess we were wrong……

Maybe I’ve learned one thing over the years of my life - I will never tell my children that something it too trivial or useless. It just may be the next big thing and they will be the next bill gates or Myspace, or who knows - millionaire champion pen twirler…………………

Tis the season to be teasered?

Don't get me wrong but this season seems to be a bit more rough on me
than previouse one's. I personally witness a store clerk get malled as
he tried to bring in some Wii nintendo units to place on the shelf.

When some one is almost trampled becuase a couple of parents need that
oh so wanted gift - maybe everyone should carry a stun gun?

But give me a break - even if the woman in the video below was irate and
a bit out of control [ maybe - hard to tell on video ] - I still don't
believe that she should have been stunned. I'm starting to think this is
getting out of control here.

I always get that stupid alarm ring from the security buzzered becuase the
register girl didn't decoded it right - am I going to get tased one day
becuase that alarm went off and a security guard will find it easier to tase
me than to confront me?

Is God a control freak?

Do bald people use shampoo?

Are these really the questions we want answered? Are we willing to go to the unnamed and unidentified masses online to get seriouse answers? Or is this another cute way of getting to meet people online on one more interesting social site like myspace and facebook?

I visted the site and it was interesting, and it may be fun - but i wouldn't put to much stock on the answers you may find. I personally like the discussion forums better than the "yes or No" question parts. But hey - it is a social site so it's suppose to be fun..........
and according to 73% of the people who answered the bald question - no they don't use

Do bald people need shampoo? Another Social site?

Do bald people need shampoo? Good question. When Yuchen Long, 14, posted this question on the beta version of a new site called Wisdom on Monday, she got 63 answers in less than three hours, but no clear consensus: while 77% of respondents said no, 23% clicked yes. All those votes made Long's query one of the most popular on this new breed of social networking site that aims to bring people together based not on their school (as in Facebook), sexy pictures (MySpace) or job (LinkedIn), but rather on their own sense of humor and knack for keeping virtual conversations flowing.

Glow in Dark Cats?

Well, I guess you'll never worry about your cat sneaking up on you in the dark?

When I was a kid, I admit it, I loved star Trek and Star wars - I thought the future was bright. I atleast thought that by the time I had kids we would have flying cars like the jetsons cartoon - but all we have so far is "glowing cats" way to go science geeks.......

In Shakespeare's time, mattresses were secured on bed frames by ropes. When you pulled on the ropes the mattress tightened, making the bed firmer to sleep on. Hence the phrase......... "goodnight, sleep tight."

It was the accepted practice in Babylon 4,000 years ago that for a month after the wedding, the bride's father would supply his son-in-law with all the mead he could drink. Mead is a honey beer and because their calendar was lunar based, this period was called the honey month, which we know today as the honeymoon.

In English pubs, ale is ordered by pints and quarts... So in old England , when customers got unruly, the bartender would yell at them "Mind your pints and quarts, and settle down."

It's where we get the phrase "mind your P's and Q's"

Many years ago in England , pub frequenters had a whistle baked into the rim, or handle, of their ceramic cups. When they needed a refill, they used the whistle to get some service. "Wet your whistle" is the phrase inspired by this practice.

My little Soldier

I was wondering if your pro Iraq war and for the Soldiers staying to finish the job -
what does this picture make you think and feel?

I personally believe that it would be another vietnam if we leave. A crime [ right or
wrong ] to send our Soldiers and then not give them the support they need or allow
them to win.

Humming Road - a waste in America

It's an interesting thought - a road that humms a tune so you wont be bored or feel bad for humming a song as you try to pay attention to the road.
But I have a few thoughts:
1- ofcourse it has to be in japan - becuase in america, who can hear the road over my MP3 player....
2- if I could hear the song humming, it would probably be late at night and it would put me to sleep [ not good ].
3- With all the pot holes I encounter - no wonder everything sounds like hip

Make Money with Digg vote - Black Marketing??

Making Money with digg by voting - Black marketing ??

Is your vote for sale???? Is Digg and StunbleUpon under attack?
Found on their about page on a WordPress blog : Subvert and Profit -
The Black Marketing Blog
Quote: “ Subvert and Profit was created to let Digg users make easy money
and provide cheap, alternative advertising for content-pushers”
[ ** no link to site will be giving as to not to seem I am promoting it]

Apparently Digg and Stumble upon are under attack. By whom - who knows -
which begs the question why trust anything this “black” marketing company has
to say. But the draw of easy money calls many.
That’s right, they offer the unsuspecting individual who simply wants to do what
everyone else wants to do - make money online. They draw you in with the promise
of making easy money by subverting the very rules that are made to help Digg and
Stumble upon users - fair and impartial voting on articles or websites. [ ok, everyone
has a bias reason for voting on these sites like Digg - but these guys openly promote
buying your precious vote].

When you visit the FQA page - the first thing they mention is - the question of
“illegal” act - they say no, it’s not illegal you wont get arrested but you can be banned.
Then the next question and answer covers the fear of being banned by stating they
offer tricks and tips to help you avoid this…?

Now considering that Digg is one of the largest social book marking sites online - I wonder
what effect this has on their voting system.

I personally always wondered why and How? An individual can submit a site to
and in five minutes that digg would have more than 20, 50, even 100 votes in favor of
the submitted DiGG???

Does this mean that many of the top rated digg submission could be from companies like
these that have bought the votes of many seeking a quick and easy buck? It brings doubt
and concerns about what Digg can do for me? For anyone who is honestly simply trying to
follow the rules. Be it an affiliate promoting an article they have worked hard to write or a
fan who just wants to Digg a cool story??? Or worst - am I so ignorant that I don’t realize
that everyone except me and a few are not scamming the system?

don't call me Black or Brown - presidential hopefuls....

Is it me or don't you think that the ACLU should be called against many of these Presidential candidates or atleast the reports who blantanly say - that the candidates are seeking the "black" and "Brown" vote?

Let me get this straight - a hangsman nose is wrong? The word Ni**R is wrong if a white man says it....? And refering to people by color is wrong.... except when it comes to the presidential elections??????

Since when was my vote considered a color? Why are the democrates chasing after the "color" vote if they are supposed to be for the common people- "aint we colored folk common folk?"

I don't know about you but I find it strange that no one has "NOT ONE" compliant about the news or candidates demeaning voters [ people] and associating them or grouping them by color. NO, not one people standing up saying - Hey that sounds racist....?
