Image
Adventure in Winn Dixie - I want my Free Juice! Let's start at the beginning. My wife has her family down, we are low on food so we whip out our weekly Winn Dixie coupon flyer and figure out what we are going to get. Economy is tough and every dollar counts - so we want to be savvy, get those deals, savings and what not. After all groceries can be very expensive. So my wife goes online and tells me they [ Winn Dixie ] is having a special and she wants me to buy "10" V8 Splash juices and that we get 5 free. I thought impossible - she proved me wrong. She showed me the flyer and showed me online. Not happy about being proven wrong I decide to leave her home and go with my daughter - you know dad daughter family bonding time [ truth - get away from the misses time... ] So while were having fun shopping and I'm driving my daughter crazy as she pushes this heavy shopping cart around the grocery store. Yes, I went and got the 15 V8 splash juices first. I'm thinking he

Verizon Wireless changes "Employee Discount" Program

Here is something interesting and tricky. Verizon Wireless is changing or has already changed it's employee discount program. In my opinion, what they have done is basically forced people's hands to sign up for thier website and sign up for "paperless" billing. Here are the detials: Verizon basically keeps the same agreement with your employer as far as discount goes. But, if you have not signed up to "myverizon" or if have not signed up for "paperless" billing you will lose 3% of your "Employee Discount". So if you want to keep your full discount, you have to sign up for the above mentioned requirements. Not a big deal for most, except that they have not gone out of thier way to "announce" or advertise this change and are waiting for customers to realize the change [ meaning bill will be higher ] and are giving thier sales reps a script to feed to customers who walking complianing about the change and loss of 3% savings. So ple

Walt Disney World Savings - love the Magic

I want to thank all of you who sent me email tips on how to save money at Walt Disney world - here are some tips I recieved from one source. Disney World Savings Secrets -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Almost every family loves Disney World....but high gas prices and the sour economy threaten to dash the vacation plans of many Disney fans this year. Lisa shared some of her secrets with me... beginning with visiting during off season. Off Season Deals From August 24 to September 20th, you can eat free, if you stay at a Disney Resort. Lisa says she tries to take advantage of "the end of august and beginning of september, because of their free dining plan." She'll take the kids out of school for a day over Labor day weekend....and make a 4 day getaway. Also, hotel and package prices are lower in September and October. But even in peak season, she says, the $37 a day Disney Dining Plan is worth buying if youre staying onsite. &

Grandma got slapped by Verizon Broadband access internet service

You want "Wireless Internet" ? Thinking of getting Verizonwireless Broadband service for your wireless internet use? Well - first consider this - how much do you want to spend and how much do you use the internet on the go. If your thinking of getting rid of your home DSL service - don't - that is if you watch alot of online videos and search a large amount of sites or play online games. Verizon has not yet gone unlimited on it's braodband wireless internet service. They only give you two options - 1] $39.99 for 50 megabytes [ which people always go over ] and 2] $59.99 for 5 gygabytes of use - which is a lot but not unlimited. I tell people that they should always go for the higher 5 gb $59.99 package and wait a month. See what your actual use is and then if you go no where near the 50 MB then drop the package down to the $39.99 rate. But never give up your home DSL online service if you like visiting game sites and downloading music and things like that. You can eas

Getting your child ready for RETIREMENT???

You might think it's funny, but you could help your child today get ready for retirement. It's not crazy and personally - being one who is in the "financial planner" field you could start it as simple as $25 to $50 a month. Since your child is yougn and has 40 to 50 years to sock away money - even a small amount benefits them. The hard part is getting them to continue saving for retirment once thier old enough to do it on thier own.
