Obama, Stimulus and Stupid ? I was watching the news today and heard the most stupidest idea ever to come from Washington. A plan lead by Obama and supported by most of congress to Bring back the welfare system. Well ok, they don’t call it welfare - but what else is it. A monthly check to the poor is simply just that - a welfare system. A program that is made to actually keep most people in poverty - that’s right you heard me - in poverty. Maybe this is a way to pay back all his voters who wanted change - but apparently just want the same old sh*t we had before that did not work. How do I know - I was a child in the welfare system and I remember very well the nonsense and the mentality that this system created. Welfare never gave you enough money to barely survive on and for any little thing you were penalized. Take for instance the time my mother tried saving $1,000 dollars in the bank. For the most part, every one I've spoken to about the stimulus check and what they will do with it, basically have the same response.... They plan to catch up on bills or save it. I myself hope to save it, if I can. So much for stimulating the economy. After all, that's the whole point of this money - the government wants you to spend..... My issue with this is - this is not free money - it's sort of an advance on your next years tax return. Also, I know they said in the news that if only half of the people that receive this stimulus check spend their money - it will improve the economy three or four months later. Or should I say, the results will be seen three or four months later. Great for the presidential candidates and congress who want good news to help themselves get re-elected, but it really doesn't do anything for you and me. Unless the economy improves - all these checks do is give false hope.... So what will you do with your check???

I've been terribly sick the last four days and so while bed ridden - lets just say I've watched way to much tv. Especially on the possible recession that America is facing, may face and has the government working so hard to avoid. I have to say, I don't know about you, but I find myself working harder everyday trying to find new ways to cut back on my expenses. I don't know why the news, our government - for that matter we the people don't realize that America - the real America is already in a recession. Do you know what the economic stimulus really is? You know - That so called money the Gov’nt is giving you... I was talking with my tax people -HR Block guy and the stimulus package came up. He informed me that most people don't realize that - that money they will give you in July - is an advance on your tax rebate next year. So what the government is doing is basically giving you the money you would get at the end of the year - in July. What happens is, people don't realize that it's not free money and when the end of the year comes they get mad when they find out that the usual amount they get every year will be less due to the money they gave you early this year in advance. What burns me, is that they don't tell this to the people and just say - here is money go spend it so the economy [ mostly the rich ] wont collapse. The video below shows a family that says they are already in a recession. I tend to agree with them - but I believe the country is in a mild recession leading to a much larger one. The Government is always saying it's a personal responsibility to save - then they tell us to go out and spend to help the economy. When poor people spend beyond their means its called "irresponsibility" on their part. When the middle class spends beyond their means it's called a crisis or recession. Why? Could it be that the saying - the rich get richer and the poor get poorer is true?
