What you think does matter

Indonesian children make perilous journey to school over collapsed bridge Ok, I only have two things to say about this terrible situation: 1. Why does this writter [ see copy of small article below ] act so cavalier about this story and the terrible situation these kids have to endure. I look at the pictures and I am shocked and surprised that no one has done anything. That there isn't a public outcry about fixing this old bridge and securing the safty of these children. 2. I feel for these kids, I do. But I cannot help wonder about my children and the generation that is growing up today in America. I know for sure that if that bridge was out in my town - every boy and girl in my town would be sitting at home watching TV or playing video games becuase they can't cross that bridge [ easy ready made excuse to cut ] . In fact I am pretty sure the teachers of my town would call out anyway becuase hey - I'm not crossing that dangerouse bridge. Yes, I know - you're thinking:

US teen runaway mistakenly deported to Colombia ? This burns my butt.... First, she was not mistakenly deported. If you read the whole story she was arrested for stealing and she gave a false name. She then was prosecuted, charged, went thru deportation process, arrived in Columbia took her papers, accepted the help and started working at a call center [ without even knowing how to speak Spanish mind you ] and never once told anyone "hey, I am an American citizen". How is that a mistake? What really burns my butt is that this kid proves the retardation that happens in this world and in any government. You are sent back to your country [ in this case falsely because she lied about who she was ] and what does Columbia do - hey you broke the law but come here we are going to welcome you home, give you assistance and give you a job - do you speak Spanish? No, it's OK no one really cares at a call help center.... Give me a break..... Not to mention that she is pregnant? So, di

First thing I learned is that you never expect to get what you thought out of any hotel you stay at - so this vacation I planned to have fun and not expect much from the hotel. Not what my wife wanted. So we - meaning she decided we were going to spend spring break vacation at a wonderful Hotel that had 2 water parks. One was an indoor water park and the second an even larger Wet n Wild type water park right in the hotel. Ok, I was expecting the worst. Hotel Coco Keys Orlando Florida Ok it was not a 4 star hotel, but it is very nice. Room is nice, pretty big and spacious. Our room was on the first floor and when we walk out we walk right into the hotel water park. Cool, I liked it. The bathroom is where I had the funny problem? Ok, nice room, big large space with a sofa bed and a nice king size bed and loved the plasma TV. But the bathroom.... The bathroom was nice and big but made for handicap people only. Oh I just had to post this, it made me luagh so hard. It reminded me of real life oddly enough. Did you ever start a simple game or a simple play fight and then you end up getting way out hand.... no really. I remember when I was a kid me and my older sister were play fighting, we had just finished watching some television show that inspired us to "play fight". I don't remember what the show was about, but I remember what happened afterward. We starting play fighting, I got the upper hand and decided to boast how strong I was and how I was going to win. I do not remmber how but I had some how over powered her enough to have her pinned on the ground - [ thinking back she may have planned it that way ]. Some how she destracted me by warning me that she was going to win.... I stopped to gloat and some how she bent her legs and planted her feet on my chest - the next thing I know I was flying across the room and landed upside down with my feet up on the dreser... not funny. Airport Escapades - night of confusion! As most families do - I went to the airport to pick up my in-laws. Their flight was arriving at 9:45pm and I expected them to be late. After all, when did any flight arrive on time. But not even two thirds on the way I get a phone call from my in-laws??? Yes, their flight had already landed and they were wondering where we were. So I applied a bit more pressure to the gas pedal and off I went. If the trip wasn’t bad enough with finding no attendee at the toll booth and barley having enough change - the night only got worst. I went around the airport trying to get to section A and find the jet blue station for arriving flights. Ofcourse just as I found the arriving flight section for jet blue I get a call from my mother in-law telling me she was at the departing section - How? I don’t know. So around the airport I went again to the departing area - get there and I can’t find them. So one more call and my father-in-law tells me they’re in the secti

Riding the Bull & the bull won… Ok, So I admit it, it wasn’t a real bull - but a mechanical bull or a real one - I am ashamed to say I failed. I saw the bull ride from more than twenty yards away and I wanted to ride that bad boy. Flashes of all the cow boy movies I’ve ever seen danced thru my head and for a minute - I thought I was going to break the record. I convinced myself that this was my day. I was going to ride the mechanical bull and I was going to be better than everyone else. Yep - me, city slicker turned country boy - today I would ride into county fair history. NOT! When I got to the line and saw what some of the first bull riders had gone thru - flailing around on that mechanical monster - I thought - "is this thing safe"? I noticed how the mechanical bull operator was more gentle on the kids than she was on adults - and again I thought, is this safe? Then I got to the sign up sheet and just before I wrote my name down I read the fine print that was way abov

Ok, it's not Walt Disney World - but it's the Fair ? Yep, the county fair - it's not the big fancy walt disney or magic Kingdom kind of outing I want to go to - but the kids wanted to go to the fair. The fair, the Carney, the traveling Gypsies - or Circus [ what ever ]. All I know is they bugged me and bugged me that I just had to go. My duaghter already made plans to meet her friends there. My wife insisted we meet her friend there [ Hey Betsy - hope you had fun ] - heck if it wasn't already expensive enough - my kids wanted to invite another friend and have me pay [ What do I look like - don't answer that ]. But I do have to say I had a blast. Between my sons excitement and scare the park was worth the over price $17 dollar wrist band to go on the rides and I wont mention the fact that I and our friends son got sort of addicted to one of those carnival chance games. All so we could we could win a toy gun for my son - too bad it turn out to be a cigeret lighter ..

Oh, I must be stupid.... I thought that the easiest thing to do with two children who fought over the Ds game was - to simply buy my son his own game. After all - then they would each have thier own game and the fighting would stop. No, not so. Now they fight about the DS consoles and the games. First my duaghter wanted to see [ see means use his blue boyish game] which my son didn't want to do becuase blue is for boys only [ considering he has been playing her pink girlish game for months. Now they spend thier time fighting over the games - dinner dash, indiana jones, sims kingdom and how my son [ who granted is not proficient in setting games up ] keeps erasing his sisters memory [ it may be on purpose who knows....] All this fighting and they each have thier own DS game - wow, that $130 dollars on my sons own DS that was suppose to make life easier - only made it worse. How do you Save money while at Walt Disney World magic Kingdom? Dad needs to save money and yet have a nice Family Disney Vacation - I know you might think it's just me being cheap, or that the economy is so bad that every penny counts [ you are right! ]... In away I just want to give my family an experience they'll remember and that won't put us in the poor house. Yes I'm still planning on taking the family to walt Disney World - visit the "House of Mouse" Mickey Mouse that is. Universal Studios Florida - 2 day pass You know, it has always been my experience that all these theme parks - including universal studios, are fun to go to but expensive as hell. That's why I guess I like going back for the free second day. Yes I know that it's not really free. You still have to pay for the parking and eating at the park is expensive as well. But it offers you something special. I don't know about you but when I visit universal studios or for that matter Walt Disney world or any theme park - I am always pressed for time. I spend most of my time rushing to get to the next ride because I feel the need to ride all the rides so I can have a sense of - "getting my monies worth". Funny thing is you rush to get to the next line only to wait 45 to 50 minutes on the line into the ride.... That's why I love the second day free opportunity. I go on all the rides on the first day make as much as I can out of it - then on my second day - I go on the rides

Party New Years Eve !! Wild HOT Party !!! Ok so it's not the HOT party you might be thinking, but it was a wild good old time. We had the PIG roast [ thats right I had pig - it's new years eve - forget the cholestoral ... sorry Doc... ] We had the drinks, the loud "wake up" the nieghbors music, the beautiful woman - my wife being the most Gorgeous one present. Love you babe.... The kids running wild, oh and did I mention the dancing? We went to Universal Studios with the kids - it has changed alot since the last time I was there - I hate the entrance to Universal Studios [ Florida ] - love the preferred parking [ though it cost $17 bucks ] and love what they've done with most of the park at Universal Studios. They've changed the earthquake ride [ atleast the intro - but the ride itself is still the same. They got rid of the back to the future ride and put in the Homer Simpson ride - but all in all - nice place to take the kids]... Oh, just be prepared to spend lots and lots of money - a six slice whole pizza at Universal Studios with four drinks and 2 cookies cost me about thirty bucks - and I had to go back and buy two more slices at $3.99 a piece... boy do these kids have to cut down on eating when we're at this park.... Another surprise - go to the universal studios group ticket booth to buy your entrance ticket - it took me all of five minutes to buy my tickets and enter the park.... while I walked

Awe nothing like the holidays and a good old fashion wild Christmas Eve party to get going with the end of the old year and starting the new... You can always tell how your New Years eve party is going to turn out [ good or bad ] by how your Christmas Eve party ends up being. And seeing as how this Christmas Eve party was a wild Hispanic "get down, get down" bash - I expect the New Years Eve party to be a blast... nothing like the holidays..... Party, Party, Party, man I've got to work tommorrow..... grrrr... Maybe it was the eggnog, or just the atmosphere of the people around us - but when people celebrate Christmas - hey no one gets down with the spirit like the Hispanic people at this party did. Forget the utile log and caroling - Just take a look at the video below - talk about a wild time at the old Christmas party.... how do you like the dance moves..... Wild Hispanic Christmas Eve Party The christmas party was fun, the dancing was not so bad and there were no alcohol drinking around - too bad I didn't get the competitive bingo contest - watching grown women all excited about playing bingo so they can win some exciting Christmas prizes was the best part of the whole night! I have to get some more pictures out of the camera - that Christmas party and this years holidays festivities gave me alot of stuff to process and maybe some good stuff for the blog.

Show and tell One of the favorite things my son likes to do in school is - participate in "show and tell". Sometimes I think he spends the whole week thinking about what he will bring to school on friday for show and tell. One night he was searching around and under the couch [ don't ask cuase I don't know ] and he told me he found the perfect show and tell item.... what you ask? Well, a green slimy frog. That's right a frog. Some how a frog sneaked into my house and under my couch and my curiouse son found him [ bad for the frog ]. The funny thing about it was what I did not get to catch on video - it was halariouse watching him trying to pick the frog up and hold it while the slimmy little thing kept jumping up into the air. I don't know why, but first it was a mouse running around my house, I have this small dog visiting and now, I have a frog.... is this some kind of Biblical plegue????

How do you know your old? that is a good question. Well here are two tips: One - if you have to take time to count the candles - your old.... two - when the room fills with smoke after you blow out the candles, boy you are old!
