Verizon Wireless changes "Employee Discount" Program

Here is something interesting and tricky. Verizon Wireless is changing or has already changed it's employee discount program. In my opinion, what they have done is basically forced people's hands to sign up for thier website and sign up for "paperless" billing. Here are the detials: Verizon basically keeps the same agreement with your employer as far as discount goes. But, if you have not signed up to "myverizon" or if have not signed up for "paperless" billing you will lose 3% of your "Employee Discount". So if you want to keep your full discount, you have to sign up for the above mentioned requirements. Not a big deal for most, except that they have not gone out of thier way to "announce" or advertise this change and are waiting for customers to realize the change [ meaning bill will be higher ] and are giving thier sales reps a script to feed to customers who walking complianing about the change and loss of 3% savings. So ple

Ok so it's NOT WALT DISNEY WORLD -but it's Fair ???

Ok, it's not Walt Disney World - but it's the Fair ? Yep, the county fair - it's not the big fancy walt disney or magic Kingdom kind of outing I want to go to - but the kids wanted to go to the fair. The fair, the Carney, the traveling Gypsies - or Circus [ what ever ]. All I know is they bugged me and bugged me that I just had to go. My duaghter already made plans to meet her friends there. My wife insisted we meet her friend there [ Hey Betsy - hope you had fun ] - heck if it wasn't already expensive enough - my kids wanted to invite another friend and have me pay [ What do I look like - don't answer that ]. But I do have to say I had a blast. Between my sons excitement and scare the park was worth the over price $17 dollar wrist band to go on the rides and I wont mention the fact that I and our friends son got sort of addicted to one of those carnival chance games. All so we could we could win a toy gun for my son - too bad it turn out to be a cigeret lighter ..

Govnt stimulus not free money......but yours

Do you know what the economic stimulus really is? You know - That so called money the Gov’nt is giving you... I was talking with my tax people -HR Block guy and the stimulus package came up. He informed me that most people don't realize that - that money they will give you in July - is an advance on your tax rebate next year. So what the government is doing is basically giving you the money you would get at the end of the year - in July. What happens is, people don't realize that it's not free money and when the end of the year comes they get mad when they find out that the usual amount they get every year will be less due to the money they gave you early this year in advance. What burns me, is that they don't tell this to the people and just say - here is money go spend it so the economy [ mostly the rich ] wont collapse. So while people think it’s free money in truth it's not - you better not be counting on your tax refund to bail you out of any year end debts bec

Do the Rich care about your Finances????

The video below shows a family that says they are already in a recession. I tend to agree with them - but I believe the country is in a mild recession leading to a much larger one. The Government is always saying it's a personal responsibility to save - then they tell us to go out and spend to help the economy. When poor people spend beyond their means its called "irresponsibility" on their part. When the middle class spends beyond their means it's called a crisis or recession. Why? Could it be that the saying - the rich get richer and the poor get poorer is true? While all the news is either about a country wide recession - what people fail to realize is that a recession means the "Rich people" wont be making money. That’s right you heard me. The poor are already lacking money. The middle class support the economy by spending beyond their means. And the rich depend on the poor to spend what little they have and the middle class to believe that their over sp

Wasting your time twirling pen??

When I was growing up, all I ever heard was - “work hard, don’t waste your time on trivial things and you will be a success”…. As a nation we here our American education system is shot and that the Japanese have students who have no summers off and work long school days. This is why America is falling behind…….. Now I find out that video games could have made me a millionaire. That silly computer “nerdy” tech stuff could have made me the next bill gates. I also know that the Japanese culture plays more video games, online fantasy games and spends a lot of time trivial things - like perfecting the “art “ of twirling pens in their hands. I guess we were wrong…… Maybe I’ve learned one thing over the years of my life - I will never tell my children that something it too trivial or useless. It just may be the next big thing and they will be the next bill gates or Myspace, or who knows - millionaire champion pen twirler…………………
