Losing 15,000 family pictures and memories!

Losing 15,000 family pictures and memories!

Trying to save our precious photo memories.
What parent doesn’t want to take a picture of their child. I’m sure most parents like myself have hundreds if not thousands of pictures of their children. A picture of a first step or a first birthday - these photos all stored away in boxes and tubs in a closet.

baby pictureHow many families have lost thousands of precious memories because of flooding or fire and all these pictures and memories are gone. The solution has been to move over to digital cameras and digital pictures - you not only save closet storage space, but you can save all those pictures on your computer.

What most of use do not consider is - what if your computer goes down?

My brother-in-law gave me a call once, he needed me to help him fix his computer. It apparently went down and he couldn’t do anything with it. Well after I tried everything I knew and we spent more than three hours on the phone with tech support [ mostly waiting ] we came to the conclusion that there was nothing we could do. The sad thing wasn’t needing to buy a new computer, but the fact that he lost over 15,000 pictures. Pictures of his first born, the birth of his little girl, all his family vacations - I mean everything. I was surprised when he told me that he never backed up any of these family pictures on to Cd, it was devastating.

At first I thought I would never do that - then I noticed that I have several family photos that are sitting in my computer and I keep forgetting to make a cd copy for safety. On top of that, Cd’s degrade and they can be lost, burn in a fire and heck - I miss place things all the time [ I lazy it’s so easy when it’s on my computer ].
So my solution is to store much of my special photos online, yeah it’s kind of hard downloading all my pictures online - but hey, I’d rather be safe than sorry. I’m currently doing all my “Online file storage“
with this company that offer a free trial offer. I figure I might try it out before I pay for it. I guess the teat will be if I can store all my most precious memories online before the trial offer is done, then I’ll pay for it.

After all, I don’t want to pay for something I’m not going to use.
