Ok, I've been very, very - did I say very? Well, I have been very busy and I am trying to catch up on my blogging. Much of my blog past are about my family, the funny things they do [ or what I consider funny - wife does not get my humor... ]. But all in all I create art [ you call it comics ], I write about the kids and sometimes about serious thing and occassionally I rant about politics [ don't get me started. But this post is going to be about my baby girl. You see, my kid and her friends do some very strange things. I remember once asking her what she was doing on the house phone. Apparently all her friends wanted to figure out how many people could they get on one call - so each friend did a three way call with some one else and she proudly exclaimed: "Dad, we're up to 20 people on one call - this is cool!" .. I cut that short. Another time I found her and her friends trying to see how many people could answer [ comment ] on someones page. She told me they w

Definition of Stupid - Now this Funny Comic I can relate to.

Image
This one is Funny but personal. I created this comic strip after dealing with some family issues. You know, after knowing people for years you get to know them. You start to see patterns, you see them repeating actions and mistakes over and over again. I had this one family member who wanted my help and kept bothering me for advice, but this person was tired of me giving them the same advice. My thought was, "Well, you keep doing the same darn thing over and over. Stupid...."

Summer is Gone, time for wild hair

Image
Summer is Over, Time for Wild Hair So summer is over and school has started once again. But my son who use to love having a spiky hairstyle, he now wants nothing less than the [yuk] Justin beiber look. It's killing me to watch him comb his hair. This morning I figured I would bother him and I took a picture of him with his hair "gone wild"... He didn't care. He just went on with hair like nothing. Oh I have this terrible urge to give him a buzz cut as he sleeps. Really, would it be wrong of me if he just happens to wake up next morning to find that half of his head is shaved clean? This child of mine is amazing and annoying all at the same time.

Children do strang things to You - Help Me !!!!

Image
It's been a while seen my last confession - oops, I mean post. I've sort of been busy working [ trying to make up the money I spent on my camping vacation ]. I have also been playing with the kids and yes - loosing my manhood....... I Have a confession? You know, I would do anything for my kids.... anything! That is just a given, I believe most Parents would, but in my attempt to help my duaghter learn about money, how to earn it, manage it and start her own business - I learned I have a creative and [ dare I say ] feminine side to me .... Lol... Yes, I helped my duaghter start her own Jewelry Business [ look honey I spelled "Jewlery" right ... oops ]. And by doing so found that hey, I have sort of have a flare for this [ wow sounds way to girlie ] - I mean a nack for this. It started with me just helping her build her hobby into a business, then helping her fine tune her skills and then just helping her where ever I could - until I actually started creating pieces an

Parenting, who really listens

One thing you learn fast when you have children is that - no one really listens to you.

Image
Oh Crap, this made me feel dumb, thanks for sharing Sandy... A PRE-SCHOOL TEST FOR YOU Which way is the bus below traveling? To the left or to the right? Can't make up your mind? Look carefully at the picture again. Still don't know? Pre-schoolers all over the United States were shown this picture asked the same question. 90% of the pre-schooler's gave this answer. 'The bus is traveling to the left.' When asked, 'Why do you think the bus is traveling to the left?' They answered: 'Because you can't see the door to get on the bus.' How do you feel now ???

Halloween - How to make a cake look like a Pumpkin [ not a recipe ]

Image
How to make a cake look like a Pumpkin ! Oh, Halloween - the scariest day [ night ] of the year. In time past me and the ball and chain would have gone to universals Halloween horror nights, a stroll thru old town with all the whacko’s or simply watched a very scary movie [ and then got busy .... :) - did I say that out loud?] . But when you have children you have to temper your ways and make the scariest night of the year - a bit more child friendly… whoopee… So, a Halloween party it is. Go “trick a treating”, dress up [ I dressed up as Clark Kent ( superman’s secret identity ) on vacation [ check it out, I think it was creative] . Ofcourse my family outing turned into a reason to invite four of my daughters friends to come to the party and to top it off - sleep over as well [ talk about cackling witches - scary ]. I believe the night truly was a big success [ thank you Annie - for inviting us and your decorating skills are great! ] The girls had fun, all the kids went "trick-a-t

5 yr old already going steady ???? funny children dating

Image
Here I was, getting everything ready for school: * 5 yr old bathed and dressed [ checked ] * brushed his teeth [ checked ] * lunch for school ready [ checked ] * gold ring for girlfriend [checked - what ?????] That is right, I found a gold ring [ costume jewelry ] amongst my 5 year olds things as I was getting him ready to go to school. When I asked him about it - he smiled and slowly told me it was for his girlfriend ... his girlfriend? First I wanted to be proud - my boy is a stud... then I thought, what the heck he is only five... then I thought again - what a stud.... then back to, who the heck told him to give the girl a ring ???? I thought it was bad when he would occassionally mention that he liked a girl in school. Hey, all kids say that. Then one day he said he had a girlfriend [ ok not too bad, everyday it was a different girls name so it can't be too serious ] But a ring, who the heck gives a girl a ring at age five. For goodness sake it wasn't until I was 10 that I

When you thought I wasn't looking

WHEN YOU THOUGHT I WASN'T LOOKING A message every adult should read because children are watching you and doing as you do, not as you say. When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you hang my first painting on the refrigerator, and I immediately wanted to paint another one. When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you feed a stray cat, and I learned that it was good to be kind to animals. When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you make my favorite cake for me, and I learned that the little things can be the special things in life. When you thought I wasn't looking I heard you say a prayer, and I knew that there is a God I could always talk to, and I learned to trust in Him. When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you make a meal and take it to a friend who was sick, and I learned that we all have to help take care of each other. When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you take care of our house and everyone in it, and I learned we have to take care of what we

Is Mom a Pole Dancer ??? always check homework

Image
Is Mom a Pole Dancer? I got this in my email this morning - I think it's so funny - children I tell you. Mom explians child's Homework - always check your childs homework .... VERY FUNNY !!! (Here's the reply the teacher received the following day) Dear Mrs. Jones, I wish to clarify that I am not now, nor have I ever been, an exotic dancer. I work at Home Depot and I told my daughter how hectic it was last week before the blizzard hit. I told her we sold out every single shovel we had, and then I found one more in the back room, and that several people were fighting over who would get it. Her picture doesn't show me dancing around a pole. It's supposed to depict me selling the last snow shovel we had at Home Depot. From now on I will remember to check her homework more thoroughly before she turns it in. Sincerely, Mrs. Smith

Unbelievable stories - But all TRUE!!!

Here are some stories I've been saving for when my kids grow up - actual events - funny.... It is very important to always know what to do in case of an emergency. It can save lives to be prepared. While walking down the street one day, my wife mistook the sound of a car back firing for the sound of a gun shot. She immediately went into action. She grabbed my arm and screamed “ everyone, STOP, DROP and Roll !” As a father, I try to teach my children the best way I know how. When my son turned two (2), he and my daughter found it an enjoyable exercise to run wildly around the house. Since my son does everything his sister does, I explained to my little girl that I wanted her to walk, not run in the house. It was a dangerous and unsafe thing to do, that is how people get hurt. If your running you can easily run into something and seriously get hurt. Feeling sure she understood what I was telling her, I turned around and walked straight into the closed glass porch door.... We decide

Gummy Bear and My kids - Lord help me ....

Image
Gummy Bear and My kids - Lord help me... I wrote a post a day or two ago about making sure my kids watch intelligent stuff and the challenge I face with them watching what I call ‘dumb programming”. I also wrote about how as parents we have to be diligent protecting our kids from “improper things” on the internet. I was watching TV in the living room and as usual I decided to sneak up on my kids and take a look at what they were doing online. Normally my daughter gets online to play on kid friendly social sites like Penguin. But what really caught my ear was the singing - especially the catchy toon I heard coming from my computer. Like I said - I wish my kids would watch only intelligent programming - but sometimes I even get caught up with some of these catchy silly videos. I’m not happy she was on Youtube but relieved to find her watching this silly Gummy bear video [ it’s had 10,405,136 views ] That didn't stop me from giving her the parential speech....

In Poor taste - you be the judge

Image
In poor taste? My significant other saw a video clip [ part of a video ] I was creating and said that it was done in “poor taste” on my part. Well, I’ll let you be the judge of the complete work. The goal behind this video was to help me talk about the “Effects Movies can have on children”. You see, we let our kids watch just about anything on TV, videos, internet or in the movies. I don’t mean you personally or I myself - I personally try very hard to shield my kids from a lot of programming on TV. But I will admit that America as a whole - parents don’t really concern themselves with what their kids watch. I also admit that there are times I let them watch things they really shouldn’t. Not because it’s bad but because it can effect them adversely. I know this will sound silly and it’s embarrassing to me - but I a grown adult can’t seem to take a shower or use the bathroom without wondering if someone is just on the other side of that shower curtain. Really, Psycho [ Hitchcock's o

Dancing to the Hippo dance - Me no I'm an Adult !

Kids are kids and I know from my experiences of my youth that kids are attracted to dumb things. But as a parent, I just wish my kids would do more than watch things like Sponge bob and Some of these dumb silly cartoons. Not that my kinds turn into vegetables or coach potatoes during the summer. My little has done a lot to improve her math skills over this summer - but she seems drawn to [ what I call - dumb cartoons]. I remember when all she watched was animal planet, Emerald Leggasse and other constructive and educational programming. But sometimes - even the kids in me over whelms the adult in me. I walked into my room yesterday and found my daughter and son singing and dancing to this video and I instinctively joined in on the dance craze. I’m such a bad parent….. LOL The Hippo video

Video Games just as bad as Drugs ....

Image
I hear people talk about how video games are a bad influence on our children. And I am starting to wonder if they are right. I think my 4 year old son has a problem - atleast with video games. He woke up this morning and asked me one thing - “Can I play now?” Looking at this photo - I'm wondering if he wasn't sleep walking - boy does this kid have it bad for video games.
